Maria Bourbou
FokiaNou Art Space is pleased to present "Nude", a solo photography exhibition by Maria Bourbou, opening Saturday, March 7, at 7 pm. Bourbou's work appears as dreamlike images where fiction is mixed with reality and where past, present and future are fused. In this series, she focuses her lens on the naked body using natural light. The interior environment is bare, so that the subject imposes itself. The work acts as a mirror of ourselves and attempts to display emotions and strength. At the same time it is displayed as a symbol of beauty and harmony.
Born in Athens, Maria Bourbou studied Photography at the private photography school "E.M.EF" of Dimitrios Xliveros in Athens, as well as German Language and Literature at the University of Kiel (Germany). In recent years, Maria Bourbou has been living and working in different countries in Europe. Her work has been exhibited and collected internationally including at the Instituto de Camões in Lisbon, the gallery Teambox, (LX-Factory, Lisbon) and at the Konrad Adenauer Building of the European Parliament in Luxemburg. She recently had a solo show at the Hellenic American Union in Athens, and has participated in many group exhibitions, most recently at the Salon du CAL 2018 in Luxembourg, at "Back to Athens 6" (International Art Festival in Athens), presenting the digital poem "Myopia". Some of the works in this series were shown in the exhibition "Gender and Other Boundaries" at the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of Setúbal, Portugal.

Μαρία Μπουρμπού
Ο χώρος σύγχρονης τέχνης FokiaNou Art Space παρουσιάζει την ατομική έκθεση φωτογραφίας της Μαρίας Μπουρμπού με τίτλο "Nude" που εγκαινιάζεται το Σάββατο 7 Μαρτίου 2020 στις 7:00μμ. Πρόκειται για μία σειρά ασπρόμαυρων φωτογραφιών που μελετούν το ανθρώπινο σώμα. Η Μαρία Μπουρμπού στρέφει το φακό της στο γυμνό σώμα που, βρίσκεται σε φυσικό φως και τοποθετείται σε πρώτο πλάνο με λιτή προσέγγιση και διάθεση. Μέσα από τα έργα της έκθεσης, αποπειράται να στρέψει τη ματιά μας στο σώμα που ενεργεί ως καθρέφτης του εαυτού μας, εκπέμποντας συναισθήματα και δύναμη ενώ το αναδεικνύει ως σύμβολο ομορφιάς και αρμονίας.
H Μαρία Μπουρμπού γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στην Αθήνα. Σπούδασε Φωτογραφία στην ιδιωτική σχολή Ε.Μ.ΕΦ. του Δημητρίου Χλιβερού στην Αθήνα και Γερμανική γλώσσα στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Κιέλου στην Γερμανία. Τα τελευταία χρόνια ζει και εργάζεται στο εξωτερικό. Η δουλειά της εμφανίζεται ως ονειρικές εικόνες, όπου η φαντασία αναμειγνύεται με την πραγματικότητα και όπου το παρελθόν, το παρόν και το μέλλον συγχωνεύονται. Η πρόσφατη ατομική της έκθεση πραγματοποιήθηκε στην γκαλερί Κέννεντυ της Ελληνοαμερικανικής Ένωσης στην Αθήνα. Το έργο της έχει παρουσιαστεί σε διεθνές επίπεδο, μεταξύ άλλων στο Instituto de Camões στην Λισαβόνα, στο LX-Factory, γκαλερί Teambox στην Λισαβόνα, στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο, Konrad Adenauer, στο Λουξεμβούργο. Η Μαρία Μπουρμπού έχει συμμετάσχει σε πολλές ομαδικές εκθέσεις, πιο πρόσφατα στο Salon du CAL 2018 στο Λουξεμβούργο, στο "Back to Athens 6", παρουσιάζοντας το ψηφιακό ποίημα "Myopia" καθώς και στην έκθεση με τίτλο "Gender and Other Boundaries" του Μουσείου Αρχαιολογίας και Εθνογραφίας της Σετούμπαλ στην Πορτογαλία. Έργα της βρίσκονται σε ιδιωτικές συλλογές.
